ASVAB Career Exploration Program

1. What is the ASVAB program?
The ASVAB Career and Exploration program is a comprehensive career planning program that includes a multiple-aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to to help you explore the opportunities awaiting you.  See this link for more information:  ASVAB

2. How does the ASVAB test help me identify my skills and abilities?
The ASVAB program administers a series of eight short tests that help you identify your skills in a variety of areas. It can help you regardless of your plans after high school because it measures aptitudes that are related to success in different jobs as well as training and education programs.

3. Who will see my ASVAB results?
Both you and your counselor receive a copy of your test results. The school does not authorize your scores to be sent to the department of defense, and no information about you will be forwarded to the department of defense.

4. When is the test and How do I sign up?
Iroquois is holding the ASVAB test on Friday, January 24, 2025.  Letters were mailed early December to all Senior and Junior students students, and interested students will return their permission slips to the Student Support Services office by Friday, January 17, 2025. Students who are interested in taking the ASVAB can go to https://www.asvabprogram.com/ for more information.

The ASVAB CEP (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery/Career Exploration Program) Exam, scheduled to be administered on Thursday, January 22, 2026, has been cancelled. Students who are interested in taking the ASVAB can reach out to area recruiting offices. If you have questions about this cancellation, please reach out to the Student Support Services office at 716-652-3000 x 7876.
