Bio
Timothy Gastle received his Bachelor of Music Degree in vocal performance as well as his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds his Master of Music degree from the University of New York College at Fredonia. He teaches Music In Our Lives and Theory I and II, as well as 5 high school performing ensembles: Chorale, Concert Choir, Swing Choir, Male Chamber Chorus, and Women’s Choir. Mr. Gastle’s choirs have received Gold and Gold with Distinction NYSSMA ratings consistently throughout the years. His choirs have traveled to Toronto, New York, and Boston, and have been invited to sing for the M&T Bank Concert Series, and with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Singers. His choirs can be found performing for numerous community and concert events. Many of his students participate in the Erie All County Festival Choirs. In addition to his duties at Iroquois, Tim directs the Contemporary Ensemble at SS Peter & Paul Church in Hamburg, and was the assistant vocal director at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs where he vocally directed the spring musical for almost 20 years. He teaches private vocal instruction, and has served as Chair of the Music Committee of the Buffalo Diocesan Liturgical Commission, and currently serves as Chair of the district-wide Music Department at Iroquois. Tim has been honored to receive the Buffalo Philharmonic/Erie County Council of Music Coordinator’s Award for Excellence in Music Education. Mr. Gastle is in his 28th year of teaching at Iroquois.
