Studio In Art
This course is a full year course (40 weeks 1 credit). This course is designed as an introduction to various studios and concepts in the studio method. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts using art elements and principles of design. The course is in compliance with The NYS Standards for The Arts revised in 2020. The course will enable students to use various art media such as pencil, paint, pastels, watercolor, acrylic paint, clay, computer skills and a variety of other materials. Students will focus on influential periods in the art world that will give them a foundation of knowledge needed to create various pieces of art. Students will develop new skills and use a variety of new techniques and mixed art media involved in the process of various studio in 2D and 3D form. The student will be encouraged to explore and apply many of their own personal experiences to design and create a variety of 2D and 3D works of art. This is a good foundation/base course for possible advancement into the many other art courses offered at high school.
